Srinagar: SP Awantipora clarified Thursday that Students of IUST pelted an Army party with stones near the University.
Earlier, gunshots were heard near the IUST creating panic and chaos.
SP Awantipora Zahid Ahmad Malik told that an Army party was stoned near the University creating panic around.
Sources said that Army personnel resorted to aerial firing to disperse the Students creating chaos in the area.
They said that forces also fired many tear smoke shells inside the campus creating more chaos.
Pertinently, fierce firing shots were heard near the Islamic University of Science and Technology, (IUST) Awantipora in south Kashmir.
