Kupwara border populations demand construction of bunkers

Kupwara, May 04 : A woman was injured and fifty residential houses severely damaged in exchange of fire between troopers of India and Pakistan on the line of control in Karnah sector of north Kashmir’s frontier district Kupwara.
Locals told KNS correspondent Peerzada Sayeed that during night intervening Thursday and Friday heavy exchange of fire between the troopers of India and Pakistan resulted in heavy damages to fifty residential houses as the entire area was shaken by the exchange of mortar shells and bullets.
Confirming that one woman identified as Noor Jahan wife of Ghulam Hassan Qureshi resident of Forward Satpora Teetwal Karnah was injured in the exchange of fire. The residents have demanded construction of bunkers which they can use during the troubling times for the purposes of shelter and safety. (KNS)
