Srinagar: The Narendra Modi government is doing everything it can to bring Dawood Ibrahim back to the country, Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh said while adding that he cannot divulge what the government has planned.
โWe cannot set any deadline [on bringing Dawood back to the country], even if we have got information we cannot divulge hereโ, Rajnath said while speaking at the Panchayat Aaj Tak event.
โCanโt talk publicly on it [Dawood issue]. Our government is doing everything. Result takes time. We need your best wishes. If I have your best wishes, then hopefully we will succeed. I canโt disclose anything,โ Rajnath also said.
Asked if the government will also hold talks with the Hurriyat leadership in Kashmir, he said, โIf Hurriyat is ready to come to the table for talks, we are ready for it. However, as on date, there is no indication from them to this effect.โ
The Narendra Modi government, which stormed into power on this day exactly four years ago, has entered the last stretch of its five-year term.
