‘Month provides a great opportunity to believers to get closer to Almighty Allah’

Srinagar, Jun 04 : Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday termed the fasting month of Ramadhan full of nature’s bounties and rewards, said the month provides a great opportunity to believers to get closer to Almighty Allah as there is no end to his mercy and forgiveness in this holy month.
He said that the month also provides a great opportunity to believers to wash off all their previous sins and to start a life afresh based on pious and sacred principles of Islam
Addressing a religious gathering in connection with Ashra-e-Maghfirat at Masjid-e-Rehmat Lal Bazar Srinagar, Mirwaiz said that the fasting month is the one in which holy Quran was descended on earth from the skies and the believers must recite Quran as much as possible. He said Ramdhan provides a chance for self-introspection and to stay away from the sins and other worldly things disliked by Allah and his beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He stressed on understanding the meaning of every verse of holy Quran so that the holy book is followed and understood in its true spirit. Mirwaiz while terming the Laila-tul-Qadr (night of blessing) a night worth more than 1000 months, said Quran was descended on this very auspicious night. He said people must cash in on this night to seek ultimate blessings of Almighty Allah by remaining awake throughout the night by reciting quran, remembering Allah and through Zikro-Adkhaar.
