Srinagar, Jun : A civilian and three local militants have been killed in a gunfight between militants and government forces on Friday Chatpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Earlier a militant was killed during a gunfight in Kachama forest of Kupwara district.
Reports reaching  that soon after the encounter between militants and government forces broke out, the clashes erupted in the area in which more than 8 youth suffered injuries some of them with serious injuries have been shifted to Srinagar for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said that a 16 yrs old teenager identified as Faizan Gani succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
Witnesses added that Forces used bullets and pellets to disperse protesters near the encounter site who were trying to disrupt operation.
Pertinently, a joint team of army’s 55 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation following specific information about the presence of some militants at Thamuna village adjacent to Chatpora near main town Pulwama.
Director General of Police SP Vaid took to the Twitter wherein he confirmed the killing of three militants. (Agencies)
