Budgam 13 Jul :ย Police on Friday used force to disperse a mob that set two residential houses in Chrar-e-Sharief town of this central Kashmir district on fire over the alleged murder of a youth.

A mob appeared in Doudkhout village of Chrar-e-Sharief this evening and set ablaze two houses belonging to Ghulam Qadir Dar, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

Angry mob alleged hand of Darโ€™s daughter in the murder of Sameer Ahmad, whose body was found from Yousmarg Dam on Tuesday. A 12thย class student, Ahmad gone missing on June 27.

Meanwhile, clashes broke out when police reached the area to contain the situation. Cops lobbed tear smoke shell and fired warning shots after angry mob pelted rocks and stones at them.

โ€œThe police vehicle was also damaged by mob. The situation in area is tense,โ€ eyewitnesses said.
