Bareilly, July 31  :  Six labourers were killed in an incident when a portion of a ground caved in during laying of an optical fiber in Baradari area of the city on Monday night.
However two labourers were saved by the local people.
Police sources here on Tuesday said that eight labourers were digging the road for laying the optical fiber for a private Telecom company on the Pilibhit bypass when the incident occurred.
All the labourers were native of West Bengal.
During the investigating it was found that the contractor had not taken any permission from the corporation for digging the road for laying the optical fiber.
