Srinagar: Authorities have decided to keep all educational institutions closed in Kupwara district and Sopore Sub division in north Kashmir on Friday.
The decision has been taken in wake of the killing of two militants in Lolab area yesterday and an ongoing gunfight in Sopore.
Two Hizb militants Zahoor Ahmad Mir and Bilal Ahmed Shah were killed in a brief gunfight at Khumriyal in Lolab.
Pertinently, a civilian was also critically injured in Kupwara area after government forces opened fire on protesters.
According to official sources the decision to close the educational institution has been taken “as a precautionary measure”.
