SC likely to defer the petition on Monday

Srinagar, Aug 03 : After many days of uncertainty, State Government has finally sought an adjournment of hearing on controversial 35-A issue in the Supreme Court. Highly reliable sources told KNS that Government through its advocate has urged Supreme Court to defer the hearing scheduled on Monday citing the reasons of upcoming local bodies and Municipal Polls.
“The undersigned would be seeking adjournment of the hearing of the aforesaid petition to facilitate the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Panchayat, local bodies and Muncipal polls. “The Government is understood to have submitted in the apex court.
Earlier the Governor N N Vohra had also written a letter to Union Home Minister seeking deferment of the petition till a popular government was in place in the state. (KNS)
