Kochi, Aug 18:ย  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who conducted an aerial survey in the flood hit
areas of Kerala, which was submerged under flood water, announced Rs 500 crore as interim relief to
the state.
The Prime Minister expressed his grief and sorrow on the unfortunate deaths and damage caused to lives and property due to floods.
Mr Modi visited the state to review the situation arising out of floods in the State. After a review meeting, he made an aerial assessment of the damages caused due to floods in some of the affected areas of the State, after weather conditions was improved.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Kerala Governor Justice (Retd) P Sathasivam and Chief Miniser Pinarayi Vijayan and Union Minister of State for Tourism Alphons Kannanthanam in the aerial survey. UNI
