New Delhi, Aug 23: Veteran journalist, author and Human Right Activist Kuldip Nayyar passed away following a brief illness here on Wednesday night, sources said. He was 95.
A strong votary for human rights, Nayyar was one of the first journalists to go to jail during the movement against the Emergency.
A Punjabi, Nayyar was an ardent advocate of peaceful relations between India and Pakistan.
His last rites will be performed in Delhi on Thursday afternoon at the Lodhi Road crematorium.
