The Supreme Court on Friday stayed a Delhi High Court order that granted bail to Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali in a case where he was accused of funding terror organizations, The Indian Express reported.

The Delhi High Court on Thursday granted bail to the businessman and observed that nothing has been shown to suggest that his trade was โ€œgeared toward funding of terrorist activitiesโ€.

Watali was arrested by the NIA in a terror-funding case involving Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed among others.

The NIA immediately challenged the Delhi HC order in the Supreme Court which stayed Delhi HC order.

As per PTI the SC will hear the NIA plea on Sep 26.
