Srinagar: Intense clashes erupted near the gunfight site in Makarpora village of Arwani in southern kashmir Anantnag district Thursday evening.
Source said that as the news about the gunfight broke in the village, scores of youths took to streets and started pelting forces with stones. The forces, they said, retaliated triggering clashes.
The gunfight between government forces and militants ensued in the village after government forces launched a search operation in the village after inputs about presence of militants.
The clashes and the encounter was going on when this report was being filed. (Agencies)
