Srinagar:Militants attacked a police picket guarding the senior Congress leaders residence in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday late evening.

A police official said that militants fired upon the police picket set up in the premises of the residence Mohammad Shafi Banday at Bonbazar area of Shopian.

However, there were no immediate reports of human loss or any damage.

Meanwhile, forces have cordoned off the area and manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants.

Earlier on July 26, 2018, militants had attacked the same guard post and fled away with four rifles. (Agencies)
