Srinagar, Dec 03: The government is mulling rethinking on changing Jammu and Kashmir Bank into a Public Sector Bank in the next State Administrative Council (SAC) meeting keeping in view the rising tempers against the proposed State Administrative Council (SAC) decision.
A top government official on conditions of anonymity told Kashmir News Service (KNS), โ€œSince the government has so far issued an order only for bringing the JK Bank within the ambit of Right to Information (RTI) act but so far it has not issued any order on changing Jammu and Kashmir Bank into a Public Sector Bank, the rethinking over the issue could be discussed in the next SAC meeting.โ€ As reported already, the two largest mainstream regional political parties National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have voiced serious concern over the nonstop tinkering with institutional frame work of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) law.
