Srinagar: To provide an exposure to the Farmers from the Valley, a 10 day Capacity Building Tour to Punjab Agricultural Institute, Ludhiana was organised by the Army from 01st to 10th December 2018.

During their training at Punjab Agricultural Institute, the farmers were given an insight into various agricultural spheres viz, scope of vegetable cultivation for diversification in agriculture, usage of pesticides, farm and nursery visits, floriculture, poultry farming and subsidiary agricultural activities like mushroom farming and bee keeping so as to provide necessary support to them. The farmers also got an opportunity to visit Plant Breeding Museum.

The tour was successful as the farmers will able to share their experiences and know-how of new technological concepts which they have witnessed at the Punjab Agricultural University with other farmers, thereby contributing positively in the upliftment of agricultural production and agricultural sector as a whole in the Kashmir Valley.
