Srinagar, Dec 20: Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir on Thursday demanded government to waive off the loans to the farmers in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mir while talking to KNS asked the government to take cue from the other various states where the Congress party waived off the loans to the farmers. โCongress party realized that the farmers are distressed and waivedโoff the loans to farmers who will heave a sigh of relief,โ he said.
He said that earlier the political parties demanded waive-off loans to the farmers in Jammu and Kashmir after orchardists suffered a huge loss due to the snowfall, but the demand was ignored by the government. โWe appeal the authorities here to take cue from the government in other states and waive off the loans to the farmers,โ he said.
