Shopian, December 28 : Socio Political activist Inam Un Nabi has expressed deep dismay over the treatment meted out to orchadists in the state in face of dire crisis faced by them.

He was on a day long tour to different areas of south Kashmir especially Shopian.

Inam stated ” It is a matter of great concern that Rate given to orchadists for apple is so low that a grower is not able to clear KCC loans. They are not able to compensate the expenditure they incured on maintaining the orchards. Height of shame is such Even growers are not able to get the amount incurred on growing apples.”

Inam urged the horticulture authorities especially the horticulture department to gear up and help the distressed apple growers as the terribly low rates are proving back breaking for apple growers.
