Pulwama: At least six civilians were injured in clashes with the government forces in Tral area of south Kashmirโ€™s Pulwama district on Thursday.

Intense clashes erupted in several area of Tral including the main town soon after a gunfight broke out between the militants and the forces in Gulshanpora area today morning

An eye witness said that forces fired pellets on the protesters in Batagund village of Tral, resulting into minor pellet injuries to at least six of them.

He said that clashes erupted after the youth came out of their homes and hurled stones on the forcesโ€™ vehicles heading towards the gunfight site in Gulshanpora.

Reports said that intense clashes were going on near bus stand in Tral town. They said that the forces resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters.

A complete shutdown is being observed in the area.

Internet service was suspended in the area soon after the gunfight broke out in Gulshanpora.

Police said that the gunfight ensued after the forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in a forest area in Gulshanpora today morning
