A civilian was injured in ongoing cross-border firing and shelling in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Reports said that the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy fire and shelling along the LoC in Lam area of Nowshera.

An official said that a civilian identified as Muhammad Iqbal, son of Muhammad Riyaz of Pukharni sustained multiple splinter injuries in the shelling that started at 1:20 PM.

He said that Riyaz was grazing cattle in the area when the ceasefire violation took place.
