Srinagar, Jan 31 : Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam who was under detention at Tihar jail on Thursday met his family here after being granted custody parole following the health condition of his wife, Nuzhat Shah was deteriorating.
As reported by Kashmir News Service (KNS), Nuzhat Shah, wife of Shahid-ul-Islam had survived stroke on January 12 this year following which she was immediately rushed to hospital for immediate treatment.
Nuzhat Shah had complained of ailment and her condition turned unstable minutes before reaching the hospital following which all her relations were panicked about her life.
Meanwhile, Shahid was released after he was granted custody parole and met his family today, Nuzhat Shah told KNS.
She said that the New Delhi police, Jammu and Kashmir police is accompanying Shahid and is being allowed to meet his family members only.
โ€œShahid is being sent to Raj Bagh police station in the evening,โ€ She said, adding that the custody parole has been granted to him for only seven days.
Shahid along with scores of pro-freedom leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Farooq Ahmad Dar and others were arrested a year ago in an alleged terror funding case. (KNS)
