HAJIN: Government forces on Thursday launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An official said that the search operation was launched in Mir Mohalla, Hajin after receiving inputs about the presence of militants.

He said that the CASO was jointly launched by Army’s 13 RR unit, Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

He said that militants are believed to be trapped inside a residential house.

The Internet services have been snapped as a precautionary measure in parts of district Bandipora, the official said.

Earlier, forces had launched searches in Wahab Parrey and Banyari localities of Hajin.

“The search operation was called off at both the places after inputs were received about the presence of militants in Mir Mohalla,” the official said. (With Agency Inputs)
