Poonch, March 22: An army porter was injured in cross-border shelling along Shahpur sector in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

Station House Officer (SHO) Poonch Nishant Gupta told GNS that Pakistani forces violated ceasefire in Shahpur sector today in the afternoon by firing at the Indian army’s posts.

In the incident, the porter namely Mohd Showket (26) son of Mohd Sharief, a resident of Shahpur suffered injuries.

He said that the injured has been hospitalised.

Meanwhile, an army officer said that the soldiers manning the fence retaliated strongly. When reports last came in the intermittent exchange of shelling was going on. (GNS)
