Srinagar: ย Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Tuesday expressed serious concern over thew ill-treatment being meted out to the stranded passengers including patients who are returning to Kashmir during the ongoing lockdown.

Kadfeen said that there are disturbing reports pouring in Samba and other areas where stranded people hailing from Kashmir are halted for a prolonged period with no facilities provided and no assistance given by the government amid the soaring temperatures.

He added that it was surprising to find that even the patients suffering from various ailments who had gone to Delhi and other states for treatment arenโ€™t allowed to move beyond Samba for hours altogether and those at the helm care least about the perturbation these patients are in during the present pandemic.

Kadfeen said that even when the passes in favor of the patients are issued in New Delhi itself, JK governmentโ€™s decision to halt their passage for hours amid the scorching heat of Jammu is worrisome.

He demanded that patients discharged from outside hospitals must be given the movement passes on priority as the government action besides endangering their lives is exposing them to inexplicable hardships and trauma. ย
