Srinagar: The developmental process in J&K has taken a pace from quite a while now. Along with infrastructure development, much emphasis is given to the farming sector. The tomato production in the Union Territory will be increased with the help of hybrid seed varieties. These seeds have been developed by the scientists of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST). These tomato plants are also different from local varieties hence grow faster with a large quantity of crops. Students and researchers from the University are looking after the project. Scientists are hopeful that in future these hybrid varieties will bring revolution in tomato crops and growers will get huge benefits. (Agencies)
