Anantnag, Sep 28: Decomposed body of a teenage girl was recovered from river Jehlum after 103 days in this south Kashmir district on Monday, official sources said.

They said 13-year-old girl Nighat Jan and her mother Saleema Bano were drowned in river Jehlum on June 16, 2020. However, the body of Saleema, wife of Ghulam Hassan Dar, was retrieved the same day.

Despite massive searches the body of Nighat could not be recovered from the water body.

However, panic gripped this morning at Jaffarpora Marhama when a decomposed body was seen in the river. The body was fished out and later identified as Nighat.
