General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 15 Corps (Chinar Corps), Lt Gen BS Raju / Kashmir Age

Srinagar 10 October : 15 GOC B S Raju on Saturday said that 130 militants had infiltrated in the state last year but this year we were successful in reducing those numbers to less than 30.

Speaking on the sidelines of the POP at Jakli center Raju said, โ€œPakistan is directly involved in the militant insurgency in Kashmir. There are around 250-300 militants waiting to infiltrate the region but our forces are handling the situation in a swift manner,โ€ he said.

โ€œIn the morning, on the other side of Kishan Ganga of Keran sector, We have recovered weapons and ammunitions, which is a great success for us and a big blow to Pakistan,โ€ he said.

โ€œWith such efforts, we have high hopes that the internal situation will become better,โ€ GOC Raju added

Almost every operation is a success so far, in the morning, one RR in Bijbehara area, eliminated one foreign militant, he said.

He also added that we have observed a different level of peace in the areas where these foreign militants are killed. Pulwama and Shopian are the best examples for that.

GOC B S Raju said, โ€œIt is very important to mention that there has been a somewhat low rate of recruitment of youth for militant ranks in Kashmir in the past month. And many among those who are already in these ranks (militant) are coming forth to surrender, which is a very good signโ€.

He added, โ€œPeace would prevail in the valley once we kill all the foreign militantsโ€.

When asked about the weapons being pushed into the state (UT) by Pakistan, he said that they are doing so to delude the youth of Kashmir as well as to keep on carrying their acts of terrorโ€. (Agencies)
