Kupwara, May 20: Two siblings have been apprehended allegedly with six grenades during a naka laid by police in main-market Kupwara, official sources said.

They said that upon receipt of specific inputs, Special Operations Group (SOG) intercepted and apprehended two persons identified as Jahangir Ahmad Hajam (24), a shopkeeper by profession, and Abdul Hameed Hajam (32), a driver by profession, sons of Mangta Hajam, residents of Khairpora Tanghdar.

Upon searches, the team recovered six grenades from the possession of duo, they told GNS.

Meanwhile a senior police officer confirmed to GNS the arrest of the siblings.

A case FIR number 160/21 under relevant sections of law has been lodged and further investigations taken up, the officer said. (GNS)
