September 11: Police in Bandipora have arrested a timber smuggler and seized illicit timber.

Acting on a specific information about timber smuggling in village Aloosa, a Police party of Police Post Aloosa under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora Shri Mohammad Idrees-JKPS raided the particular spot and seized large quantity of illicit timber from one person identified as Adil Majeed Ganie resident of Ganie Mohalla Aloosa. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 152/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bandipora and further investigation initiated.

The drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of green gold. Our consistent actions against anti social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
