Srinagar, Sep 22; A policeman has succumbed to bullet injury after he tried to forcibly enter a temple in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.

DIG north Kashmir range Sujhit Kumar Singh according to news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) said that in an unfortunate incident last night that one policeman posted at Police Station Handwara identified as Ajay Dhar Son of Late Krishen lal Dhar, a resident of Langate succumbed to the bullet injuries he got during trying to forcefully enter into the temple in midnight.

He said the sentry assumed it was an attack and opened fire in which contable Ajay received bullet injury and later succumbed.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident (KDC)
