Bandipora, Jan 10 : A Jamia Masjid was damaged in a fire mishap late last night in Malangam Bala village of Bandipora district, officials said here on Monday.

Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that fire broke out in the second floor of Jamia Masjid Noor in Malangam late night at around 1 am, resulting in complete damage to the second floor.

They said that soon after the incident, locals and fire tenders rushed to the spot and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby locality, however, before fire could be brought under control it had damaged the second floor of the Masjid.

The officials said that the cause of fire was being ascertained. (KNS)
