Panic gripped Seer Mohalla locality of Quil-Muqam in Bandipora district on Friday after a black bear along with two cubs was spotted in the residential area, locals said here.

Locals told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that bear with two cubs was spotted in residential area today morning.

They said that the wild animals have been roaming in the village and its adjoining areas for the the last many days.

Meanwhile, Fida Hussain, an official of the wildlife department told KNS that a team of the department reached to the spot soon after being informed by the locals.

He also asked the locals to be extra cautious as the wild animals are roaming freely in the area.

ZEO Zone Kuil-Muqam, has also ordered the closure of two schools in the area, as a precautionary measure. (KNS)
