Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that it has solvea a theft case by arrested three accused and recovered stolen property from them.

The police in a statement said that on November 10, 2022, FIR No. 295/2022 U/s 379, 457 IPC had been registered at Police Station Handwara for the theft of electronic gadgets and other essential tools from forest range office Handwara.

“A team led by SHO Handwara immediately swung into action. Based on leads developed during investigation, statements of witnesses and technical evidence, 03 persons involved in the offence were traced and subsequently arrested,” it said.

The tro have been identified as Amjid Sheikh S/o Ab Majeed, Irshad Ahmad Sheikh S/o Sanaullah Sheikh both residents of Sheikh Colony Bagatpora Handwara and Hilal Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohd R/o Sher Colony Sopore.

“Based on their disclosure, the stolen items -1. LCD, 2. Grass Cutter, 3. Gas Cylinder, 4. Inverter Battery, 5. Printer, 6. Blower Heater have been recovered from their possession,” it added.

“Further investigation into the matter is going on to ascertain further involvement of the accused persons in other similar cases,” the police said.(KNS)
