Subscribers of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in Uri town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are having a tough and according to them, the telephony and other services of the company are completely shut from last five days.

“It is has been five days and all the BSNL services, be it mobile phone connectivity, landline, broadband, fiber, lease line internet services, are shut here from last five days,” said Yasir Ahmad, a local.

An employee posted in a government office here told GNS that they have the facility of leased line internet in their office.

“For the last five days, it has been defunct and people who come to our offices suffer,” he said.

Another local Zubair Ahmad also expressed regret that complaints raised by them often go “unattended”. “Despite complaints, no official pays any attention to the issue. It is unfortunate.”

PRO BSNL Kashmir Masood Bala told GNS: “There is some issue from last three days. The fiber is down which was attended yesterday by transmission team but could not be restored. May be by today the services shall be restored.” (GNS)
