During the night of April 29–30, Pakistan Army posts opened unprovoked small-arms fire across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors of Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army said on Tuesday.

According to an official statement, Indian troops responded "swiftly and proportionately" to the firing, maintaining control of the situation along the sensitive frontier. No casualties or damage have been reported on the Indian side so far.

Tensions have remained high along the LoC in recent weeks, with increased surveillance and troop deployment in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists.
