A deputation of Voice of Weekly Newspapers from Kashmir met with the Chief Minister to raise key issues affecting weekly newspaper publishers in the region. The delegation brought to light the financial, logistical, and policy challenges faced by the sector, urging the government to take immediate corrective measures.

In addition to the media delegation, several individuals and other groups also met the Chief Minister, presenting their grievances and various public demands.

The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to all deputations and assured them that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority. “The government remains committed to supporting free and fair journalism, and we recognize the important role weekly publications play in local information dissemination,” the Chief Minister said.

Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, and other senior officials were also present during the interaction.
