Man Injured in Physical Assault In Budgam, Hospitalised

A 42-year-old man from Narkora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district was critically injured after being allegedly assaulted by known individuals. 

The incident took place in Narkoora village on Friday, following which the injured was first taken to District Hospital Budgam and later referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.

The victim has been identified as Abdul Rashid Dar, son of Abdul Salam, a resident of Narkoora Budgam. Hospital sources confirmed to the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the victim has sustained a grievous head injury and remains in critical condition at the SMHS facility.

Sources said the man was allegedly beaten by persons known to him. While the motive behind the assault is still being verified, local police have been informed about the incident and are likely to initiate legal proceedings. [KNT]
