MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, today conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing developmental and beautification works in
 Gulmarg.

During the meeting, the MLA reviewed several ongoing works including the filling of the Children’s Park, renovation of huts, Pony Stand, and the Ice Skating Rink. He directed the R&B Department to expedite all ongoing works and ensure their completion as soon as possible, keeping in view the approaching winter season.

Mr. Shah also instructed the Forest Department to introduce new varieties of flowers around the Gondola area to further enhance its scenic charm for tourists. Highlighting the importance of ecology, Mr. Shah directed the Department that 50,000 new plants would be planted across Gulmarg, especially replacing dry and diseased trees.

The MLA directed the Mechanical Department to remain fully prepared to handle light snowfall at any time and asked the Municipal Committee to formulate a concrete plan for garbage collection during winters. He stressed strict monitoring to maintain cleanliness and protect Gulmarg’s environment.

While reviewing tourism activities, the MLA Gulmarg instructed the Tourism Department to frame the calendar of events planned to be held during the upcoming winters to attract the tourists towards this world famous ski destination especially the adventure lovers.

He directed the Cable Car Corporation to maintain the public park near the Gondola station and ensure better facilities for visitors.

He emphasized the need for joint efforts across departments to preserve Gulmarg’s natural beauty.

Later Mr. Shah also visited the Gulmarg Convention Centre to review the final stages of its completion expected to be inaugurated soon.
