The Directorate of Enforcement has approved the empanelment of 125 Special Public Prosecutors (SPPs) for conducting cases before various Special Courts under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

According to an official communication issued by the Directorate, the approval has been granted by the competent authority in reference to the Directorate’s earlier letter dated August 7, 2025, concerning the review and empanelment of SPPs.

The empanelment will be governed by the terms and conditions applicable to Special Public Prosecutors, in line with the Ministry of Law and Justice’s Office Memorandum dated October 1, 2015.

The list of the empanelled SPPs has been enclosed with the order. Advocates of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory include Umar Rashid, Sameer Khan, and Tariq Ahmad Lone.

The move is aimed at strengthening the prosecution mechanism of the Enforcement Directorate across designated PMLA Special Courts.
