Member Parliament Er. Rashid

Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi on Sunday said that Member of Parliament from Baramulla Engineer Rashid was left devastated as he could not accompany his critically ill father when he was shifted from SMHS Hospital Srinagar to AIIMS Delhi.

He said that court-imposed restrictions limiting the MP’s movement strictly between his Jawahir Nagar residence and SMHS Hospital made it impossible for him to travel further, forcing him to remain behind at a moment when his presence was most needed. “It is a painful situation where a son, despite being so close, was unable to be by his father’s side due to circumstances beyond his control,” he said.

Inam Un Nabi said that Khazir Mohammad Sheikh was shifted to AIIMS Delhi late this afternoon on medical advice, considering the seriousness of his condition. He added that the emotional strain was evident, with Er Rashid breaking down in tears, reflecting the anguish of being separated from his ailing father during such a critical time.

The AIP spokesperson said the party will approach the High Court on Monday, seeking permission for the MP to be allowed to stay with his father in Delhi. “This is purely a humanitarian matter and deserves urgent consideration,” he said.

He also appealed to the authorities to take a compassionate view and urged people to pray for the speedy recovery of Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, while expressing gratitude to the doctors and paramedical staff for their dedicated care.
