Nursing staff at Government Medical College Jammu have submitted a formal representation to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha alleging that Jammu West MLA Arvind Gupta used abusive language, made threatening remarks and publicly humiliated hospital staff during a visit to the Emergency Ward on May 14.

The complaint, dated May 15, claims the patient in question had already received medical attention before the MLA arrived. Staff allege that when a nurse greeted the MLA with "Good Morning," he responded with abusive remarks in the presence of senior officers, patients and attendants. The interaction was allegedly recorded by those accompanying the MLA and uploaded on social media, damaging the morale and dignity of healthcare workers.

The nursing staff, citing their service during COVID-19, the Chishti cloudburst and Operation Sindoor, demanded removal of the circulated videos and appropriate action to protect the dignity of healthcare professionals. No response was available from MLA Arvind Gupta at the time of filing.
