The Delhi High Court on Monday granted interim bail to Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid, currently lodged in Tihar Jail in an NIA terror-funding case, to attend the funeral rites of his father Haji Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, who passed away Monday morning.
Haji Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, described as a veteran teacher and man of integrity, drew condolences from political, social and religious circles across Jammu and Kashmir. The AIP had earlier appealed to authorities on humanitarian grounds to allow the jailed MP to participate in his father's last rites.
