Leutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said Jammu and Kashmir is all set to welcome thousands of devotees for the annual Amarnath Yatra as he performed the ‘Pratham Puja’ at the holy cave, formally marking the ceremonial beginning of the pilgrimage.

Per details available with news agency, the LG said he prayed for peace, prosperity and well-being of all and that the Union Territory is fully prepared to host the Yatra, which is scheduled to commence on July 3.

He emphasised that the administration, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, Army, police, security forces, local community and service providers are working in close coordination to ensure a safe, seamless and spiritually enriching journey for pilgrims.

He said with upgraded infrastructure and enhanced facilities in place, the authorities have expressed confidence in delivering a hassle-free pilgrimage experience this year.

Extensive arrangements, including strengthened security, improved logistics, healthcare services and coordinated multi-agency efforts, have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatre, he said.
