Jammu and Kashmir Police Tuesday claimed to have solved the February 7 attack case in which two Punjab residents were killed stating that the terrorist Adil Manzoor Langoo of Srinagar has been arrested.

โ€œMany suspects were picked up and clinching evidences led to the arrest of Adil Manzoor Langoo, who on the directions of a Pakistani handler had accepted to carry out attacks in Srinagar. DIG Central Kashmir had constituted a team led by SP to probe the case,โ€ IGP Kashmir V K Bhirdi told reporters during a press conference as per news agencyโ€”Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in Srinagar.

The IGP said that the slain Punjab residents were involved in wood work and were attacked in Shalla Kadal area of Shahed Gunj. โ€œFIR was registered and a SIT was constituted by the DIG Central Kashmir. Police did field and technical analysis,โ€ he said.

ADGP Law and Order J&K Vijay Kumar said that police will act tough against the Pakistani handlers who are locals but residing in Pakistan at present. โ€œWe are seizing the property of the local handlers who are sitting across and hiring locals here to carry out terrorist activities,โ€ he said. About Adil Manzoor Langoo, the ADGP said that he is from Zaldagar area of Srinagar and follows Ahlihadith sect. โ€œHe was in touch with the Pakistani handler through social media, who had managed to provide him a pistol in January,โ€ the ADGP said.

He said police are acting professionally to deal with incidents of terror activities in Kashmir. To a query about the presence of terrorists in Srinagar, he said that one local terrorist is active in Srinagar.

The ADGP J&K said that there are only 25 local terrorists active in Kashmir. โ€œThere are 25 to 30 foreign terrorists also active in Kashmir,โ€ he said. He urged parents and teachers to keep the close watch on their children especially those who spent most of the time on Social Media useโ€”(KNO)
