The India-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Trade Council has appointed renowned cancer surgeon Dr. Majid Ahmed Talikoti as its “Honorary Health Commissioner.” The title was conferred during a ceremony in New Delhi, where Dr. Talikoti received his appointment letter, granting him all associated rights, privileges, benefits, and powers.

Expressing his delight, Dr. Talikoti stated, “This role marks a significant milestone, and I am eager to contribute to health initiatives that connect India with Gulf countries—United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar—transcending borders, regions, and religions to foster strong diplomatic ties and healthier nations.”
Dr. Talikoti, recently recognized as one of the 100 most influential Indian Muslims by Muslim Mirror, also received the Healthcare Excellence Asian Arab Award 2025 in Dubai last week. As Chairman of the 600-bed Medicant Hospital in Bokaro, Jharkhand, he has earned acclaim for providing affordable, high-quality healthcare to the region’s patients, further solidifying his reputation as a dedicated medical professional.
