Srinagar, Nov 14 : Rail service has been suspended for security reasons in north Kashmir, where two local militants of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) were killed in an encounter with security forces on Monday evening.

However, trains continued to chug from Badgam-Srinagar in central Kashmir to Anantnag and Qazigund in south to Banihal in Jammu region, a senior railway official said. All trains on this route are running as per schedule, he added.

He said all train services will remain suspended on Srinagar-Budgam to Baramulla in north Kashmir for security forces.
