Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court has stayed the order of J&K Horticulture Planning & Marketing Department after reports surfaced in the local newspapers that   the department has allegedly double-crossed the tender process of entry gate at Sopore.

According to an order OWP NO. 697/2018 –MP NO.01/2018 passed by Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir stated that  J&K Horticulture Planning & Marketing Department has issued tenders for entry gate at Sopore in which highest bid was fifty five lakhs rupees and the second was fifty one lakhs rupees respect.

According to the order, the concerned department ignored the highest bid  and offered contract to the second highest bidder namely Zahoor Ahmad Dar who has offered fifty one lakhs.

Therefore, the court has kept the process of negotiation inititiated with the second bidder shall remain in abeyance till next date of hearing before the court. (KPS)
