Pattan, May 8,: Health Department Tuesday suspended two lab technicians for providing a report to a patient without collecting his blood sample.

Reports said that, Muzamil Ahmed, a patient from Burn Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Barmaulla district was advised by a doctor at Sub-District Hospital Pattan to get his blood examined.

Ironically, without taking the blood sample of the patient, the lab technicians handed over him a report. Doctor was surprised when the patient returned to him within no time. After inquiry, it came to light that these lab technicians cheat every naïve patient.

“The matter was brought into my notice and I immediately placed both the technicians under suspension. Negligence on part of medical staff can’t be tolerated,” Chief Medical Officer Dr Bashir Ahmed Chalkoo told news agency CNS and added an inquiry team headed by senior Medical Officer Dr Shakeel-ur-Rehman has been constituted and if proved guilty, both the lab technicians will be terminated.
