Srinagar: Angry people of Drubgam in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Wednesday held strong protest after slain militant Sameer Tiger’s grave was allegedly found vandalized.
Sameer Ahmed Bhat, alias Sameer Tiger, the Hizbul Mujahideen’s main recruiter, was killed on April 30 this year during a gunfight with government forces in his native village- Drabgam.
Local sources said that people were angry after they saw the gravestone of Sameer missing.
Soon after, announcements were made from local mosques to raise voice against what they called desecration of the graveyard.
Later scores of locals reached Pulwama and staged protest outside the DC Office demanding immediate recovery and erection of the gravestone.(Agencies)
