Intense clashes broke out near the site of gunfight in Chidder village of Kulgam district in southern Kashmir.
As the news about encounter broke out, youth took to streets and clashed with forces deployed in the area to disrupt the anti-militant operation.
Earlier, a gunfight broke out between militants and the forces after the latter launched searches in the area following inputs about the presence of militants.
As soon as the forces approached the suspected spot, the militants hiding in a residential house opened fire on them. The forces retaliated, triggering a gunfight.
Two militants are believed to be trapped inside the house.
